Jonah D Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) Looking for a partner for the DC route on Rainer beginning on May 8th 2019, ill be flying into Seattle on the 7th of May 2019 from Germany. I’m an experienced mountaineer (Alps/Andes/Central Asia/Himalaya) with my own gear and knowledge of high altitude mountaineering practices. I know it’s early but I would like to begin planning far in advance to ensure a successful trip. Thanks! Jonah Edited October 31, 2018 by Jonah D Quote

It is great to plan far in advance, but if the weather is bad on the upper mountain (i.e. ANY precip and wind) it is best to have a solid plan B (Stuart Range?) and save Rainier for another trip. It is no fun up there in a storm, and often dangerous. Early May is often unsettled. Or, it might be just fine. Good luck! Quote
