Post_936 Posted October 12, 2001 Share Posted October 12, 2001 A Portland climbing club for 14-18 year olds is looking for new members, especially those who have never climbed before. The Mazama Venturing Crew (also known as Mazama Explorer Post 936) is a great place for high school students to learn about mountaineering, rock climbing, backpacking and other outdoor adventures, and to meet others with similar interests. The group has been active for eight years, and has summited hundreds of peaks in the US, Canada and New Zealand, although most climbs take place in Oregon and Washington. For more information, students and parents may come to a meeting this Monday. Refreshments and inspiring slideshow provided. Experienced students and adult leaders will also be on hand to answer any questions.
