nice sentimental argument, if only two stark realities weren't stepping all over it.
1) Nukes are the most expensive form of power plant. Being the savvy business types they are, China's not going to build them, nor will many other countries...including ours, if you ask me.

The Park is always open, just the gate is closed because of funds, or so a Ranger once told Me
Summer: 6:30 a.m. to dusk.
Winter: Closed Oct. 9, reopens March 16, depending on trail conditions.

Agreed, given the precedent of Exit 38/Deception Crags being a State Park and you have an unattended bathroom/parking lot with climbing...

If you encounter a problem with them and can't resolve it in the field, then please notify a higher-up in the Mounties so that action can be taken.
"Alright listen up! In future, when rapelling down a steep trail, try not to look like such a dork! Mountie High Command, signing out!"
Why rappel , when you can ride the train!

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate on Thursday endorsed President Bush's plans to prosecute and interrogate terror suspects, all but sealing congressional approval for legislation that Republicans intend to use on the campaign trail to assert their toughness on terrorism.
The 65-34 vote means the bill could reach the president's desk by week's end. The House passed nearly identical legislation on Wednesday and was expected to approve the Senate bill on Friday, sending it on to the White House.

does that give you the right to "hog" a finite resource while delaying, and thereby endangering, other climbers?
When the heck did a climbing route become lumped in with stuff like coal, breathable air, and clean water? Finite resource? there is a lot of rock around. Sounds more like too many folks with too little imagination for climbing destinations...

why didn't we impose a draft and expect similar national sacrafice such as a tax to pay for all this?
why do a draft when you can backdoor it with the guard/reserves. As for a tax, I think the repubs are going to be talking about medicaid/medicare cuts in the future as we should all "need to make sacrifices"...

I just got my first set of business cards. I am going to take the elevator to the twelfth floor and take the leap. My life has become a big a waste as the paper these things are printed on. Thank god/muhammad/budda for inventing spray to pass the day...
My favorite movie scene about business cards

Okanagan is pretty redneck. The two biggest stores downtown sell guns and bibles.
Dude, that describes any Wal-mart

Franken, who makes a reported $2 million a year
$2 million, for his bumbling interviews? I like his show for his humor and more for his recurring guest ( Oliphant in paticular), but $2 million?
Now Mike Malloy, before he was fired, he was enterntainment. Listened to him when I walked the dog at night, guy sounded like he was going to strangle people on the air

darrington. you know, they keep it in the family in darrington...
Actually, its ALL family in Darrington. Going to climb Glacier Peak several years ago, a guy flagged us down who looked like he was in accident, we pulled over let him get in the truck. He was completely scratched up from head to toe like he had just bushwhacked through a mile of blackberries. Asked if we could drop him off at a pharmacy so he could get some ointment...
That weekend every car at the trailhead was also broken into .
Democrats hold 50/49 advantage in Senate.
