  1. tvash has it right. Do a climb like the North Ridge of Baker to get more comfortable on steep snow. Or start slowly on a climb with a good runout in soft conditions and just learn to get more comfortable on snow. As always, practice self arrest technique and learn its limitations in hard, icy conditions.

  2. I don't have a cilo gear pack but I met Graham and talked to him at outdoor retailer, even though I wasn't a retailer he spent a few minutes talking about his packs and showing me products. Can't speak to their customer service other than that they seem to be nice people.

That being said, I had a Jam 2 from golite that served me well for a number of years. Now I lean more towards BD and dead bird.

I tend to carry a heavier pack that has options such as frame support.

That, and I tend to not go with the trends- and cilo gear seems to dominate high end alpinism- not that it is without justification.

I tend to go for better hardware or clothes before thinking about dropping a couple bills on a backpack.

  3. Anyone experienced this? Just a common perceptive out in the community. Could very much be false. I've only been there once for a photo shoot.

Are there private camping sites? Where is camping allowed?

    How's the climbing? Classics?

Alternatively, Anyone know any good crag destination in central Washington that aren't too busy during the weekend? East of Leavenworth/ Cle Elum preferred.

I know Leavenworth well, but we're going to be chilling there next weekend for Oktoberfest.

  4. Yes there is. Was doing some backcountry up by Cowboy mountain with some buddies. Came over a rise, one of my buddies cut me off, sending my down. There was only about 3-4 feet of snow but a bunch kind of sloughed off and probably took the ski with it.

We looked for over 2 hours but with no luck. We fashioned a make-shift snowshoe out of a snow shovel and I sort of skinned up over the peak and sort of skied down the other side.

I went back to the place this summer but have not be able to find it so I'm trying to sell the one ski and binding.

  5. This is for one (1) BD kilowatt ski (185 cm) with a 2011 fritche freeride pro binding in good condition. The bindings alone sell for over $500.00 alone for a pair.

Also a pair a dynafit boots, size about 11.5 mens.

They are used but still have some life in them.

There is a broken buckle (third from the top) but it still gets tight enough without it.

There was also a loose pivot point that I reinforced with a screw that is now fully functional.

I also have a Granite Gear Status Latitude. In near perfect condition. This is great pack I just have too many.

    Make a reasonable offer. MSRP- $ 270.00

Make me an offer on any of this. Prefer not to ship so Seattle area or Eastside would be ideal. I'll be in Leavenworth this weekend too.
