I am contemplating a purchase of either the Kayland M11+ or the HyperTraction mountaineering boots for winter use. I don't intend on doing any glacier / volcanic work in them in the near future, but need a warm, well built workhorse for winter summits in the Adirondack High Peaks. I own and use a pair of Kaylands for my 3 season use and love them. I would like to stay with Kayland, and am thinking more towards the HyperTractions mainly due to the extra PrimaLoft insulation. I am a bit concerned with the rigidity of the Hyper's because I will need to be able to put miles of approach with snowshoes and or crampons, but might want the rigidity later when crampons are warranted. Any suggestions or info would be great! I am not afforded the opportunity to try them on, so that's why I ask. -Chris

I don't know how many people use Westcomb products, but they are nothing short of the best you can get. Had an issue with the Recon I purchased (not quality) and their customer service was beyond anything I've ever experienced. Very customer orientated.

I'm looking to sell a 2009 model black North Face Condor Ski jacket, size large. The jacket was only used twice after I decided I wanted a different color besides black. The jacket is part of The North Face's Tri-Climate series meaning it comes with an interior jacket that is zip-in, zip-out capable. The inner jacket is a grey North Face soft-shell jacket lined with fleece to keep you warm on the hills. The black outer shell is waterproof / breathable (HyVent) with storm flaps over all zippers and pit-zips to release heat when your core temperature rises. The jacket also has a powder skirt to keep out unwanted snow when skiing or snowboarding and a zip-off hood. Both pieces are in original condition and have not been refurbished or damaged. That being said, both jackets are made for each other and are in excellent shape. More pictures can be provided upon request. The grey soft-shell jacket alone, is made to be worn throughout fall and spring temperatures. The black shell can be worn over a heavier fleece in the winter if desired or as a rain shell in the warmer weather. When the grey soft-shell and the black shell are combined, the jacket is a warm, waterproof / breathable ski jacket made to handle any kind of weather. The black shell has three exterior pockets along with an interior stow pocket. The grey soft-shell has two hand pockets lined with fleece. As for the price, you are basically getting two jackets for the price of one. The North Face Men's Condor Jacket retailed for $279.00 in 2009. I think $100.00 is a fair price considering it was only worn twice and the fact it's basically two jackets in one. As stated above, more information and / or pictures can be provided upon request. I am selling my Suunto Core Military Edition watch basically because I need some extra cash. The Core is great watch, altimeter, and thermometer. There are several other hi-tech features included in the Core. I purchased it new in November 2009 for $300, its yours for $175 shipped. All user guides are included with the watch. My Core hasn't got much use in the peaks as it was intended for. There is no damage, defects, signs of abuse or manufacturer issues with the Core. Too many accessories to store anymore. One pair of Black Diamond Legend Gloves, men's medium, color black. The gloves are constructed with Pittard's leather palms, PrimaLoft One throughout and a waterproof / breathable Gore-Tex liner. The Legend gloves are VERY warm and have extra padding / protection on the back of hand for unwanted contact with obstacles on the slopes. Purchased for $110 at the beginning of the season, yours for $60. Worn only once. The Patagonia Synchilla Alpine Hat is a men's size medium in gray. It is a very warm fleece winter hat for hundreds of uses! I have never worn this hat and was unable to return it. The hat was purchased at the end of the 2009 season for $35, yours for $15. I am selling a slightly used Men's 2010 Westcomb Recon Hoody, size large, color black. I purchased the Recon new in December 2010 and have worn it a few times. The purchase price was $400.00. The Recon is a great PrimaLoft insulated (170 g of PrimaLoft Sport Laminated) Schoeller Dynamic sofshell hooded jacket that has a wide variety of uses. The hood is helmet compatible and the jacket is constructed with a large interior mesh pocket that easily fits a 1L Nalgene with room to spare.
