i've also used La Sportiva mountaineering boots for split board touring for years. i agree, not quite as good as high end snowboarding boots, but good enough. sometimes i think split's are better for some types of touring than fishtail x-country skis or tele's because you've already got your crampon compatible, warm, comfortable boots on and you don't have to carry anything else. but, the split board does suck on the flats.

Hello, I'm new to the PNW (sort of...was here for one year, moved, now I'm back) and want to get out before I start a new job on Oct. 6th. I have various experience on rock; lead 10's pretty comfortably (except at Index, where the 9's spank me around) and a little ice. I would love to get out with someone preferably to do some moderate alpine stuff (Stuart, Prusik type of climbs) depending on weather.
