  1. I'm selling off some gear to help fund a move and starting grad school this spring. I'll probably be adding to this for the next couple of weeks. Grivel Air Tech Carbon Axe- New. Bought it this summer, and never got around to using it. Most action this thing has seen is hanging off my gear rack on the wall. IT IS A 48 CM. Leash included. $100 OBO. La Sportiva Boots - Used. Used these through college, and have been sitting around for the last two years. I'm unsure of the style, anyone know? They are 42s. Rigid sole. Accept automatic crampons. They were used exclusively on snow and ice in the northeast, and the Vibram soles look nearly new. Plenty of life left in these. $75 OBO. http://cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=52982&cat=500 http://cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=52981&cat=500 http://cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=52980&cat=500 http://cascadeclimbers.com/plab/showphoto.php?photo=52979&cat=500 Buyer pays shipping. I'll gladly take more pictures or answer any questions.
  2. we ended up bagging our trip on account of a bad forecast. looks like that was the wrooong call, judging from JoeMack's photos. I headed up to the sun in WA though and discovered the heavenly place that is the alpine lakes wilderness....
  3. A few of us are planning on attempting the Jeff Park Glacier route this weekend for the first time, and I'm wondering if anyone has been up it recently. Any idea how far up 2243 is driveable? What the glacier and ridge are looking like? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks!
  4. yeah, i knew there was going to be a sh*t ton of snow, i'm just getting desperate to get out and climb something. i'm stuck here on the coast and haven't even had any decent surf... figured maybe the north ridge would be safer with all of the snow. if anyone has any suggestions for doable climbs right now i'm all ears...
  5. Anyone have any info on condition on and around Washington? I was thinking about giving it a go this weekend. Thanks.
  6. i'm on the coast in newport, but am looking for partners for rock and alpine.
  7. www.topoquest.com don't know if this is common knowledge or not...
  8. so I moved out to Newport in Feb, and have been surfing my ass off ever since. Made it out to Smith the other weekend and realized how much I have missed climbing, and how rusty I am. I am looking to get back into it; rock, alpine, and ice. Wondering if anyone is up for showing me around the Cascades. I was always drawn more to the alpine routes, but haven't found anyone on the coast here who climbs much at all. I consider myself a competent climber/leader, especially compared to some of the stories I have been hearing recently (the high e incident at the gunks). Hope someone out there can help me out!
  9. Thanks for the replies. I drove up to nh from boston just about every weekend to climb, so I'm no stranger to having to put the miles in for some good climbing. I have never really been involved in developing any areas, but am always up for more of an adventure. I have only surfed a couple times, but am definitely looking forward to learning. It seems like it's tough to find someone to teach you though, as I always here about a lot of localism and secrecy with surf spots. Hopefully it's not like that though, and I hear about the exceptions rather than the rule. I am looking forward to moving out there soon, so if anyone wants to get together for a climb or a beer please let me know. Thanks, Steve
  10. I am planning on moving to Newport,OR around the first of February, and am trying to learn as much as I can about the climbing scene out there. I have lived in Boston for the past four years, and have climbed quite a bit all through NE. I climb ice, alpine, sport, trad, and boulder. I just graduated and am starting a job out there, but am looking forward to climbing as much as possible. I guess I am looking for any info that might help me out as far as access, areas, partners, and anything involving a good beer. I have heard great stuff about the pacific nw, and am excited to get out there and see for myself. Thanks in advance for any help. -Steve
