  1. KGW story on Kelly James' autopsy: link
  2. Interesting HOOD RIVER, Ore. -- Autopsy results Wednesday showed that Mt. Hood climber Kelly James, whose body was recovered Monday, was not injured as previously thought. AP Photo Brian Hall's sister, Angela Hall (left) and Sheriff Joe Wampler speak to the media. James did not have a dislocated shoulder as reported by authorities earlier this week. Furthermore, James' body showed no broken bones or injuries that would have prevented his mobility, according to the state medical examiner, Dr. Larry Lewman. Lewman did say it appears James suffered from hypothermia and dehydration.
  3. Sean thanks but it would be Mike not Mark
  4. Since it was my brother that was blessed, I would like to say thank you it meant alot to me. If you are religous or not I find it hard to believe you can stand on a mountain and not see His work somewhere. But if you choose not to that is your choice.
  5. My brother was there when they found him. I asked if there was food or a stove with him. He said none was visable. But he was lying on his backpack and those things might have been inside.
  6. Everyone is speculating to the best of there abilities. However what I heard from one of the rescuers is. They believe they all summitted, then something happened to James and they built the first snow cave. The one he was found in. Then at some point the two others left to find a way down. They found themselves to far to the left and had to build another snow cave to stay in. That is the one that was empty. At some point they left this snow cave and probably were a little hypothermic themselves and they walked off the edge. But as I say everyone is speculating.
  7. Sean for you and all of the guys on the summit you are my heros. My brother was with you. I have the highest respect for all of you and what you do for people. I hope you are as proud of yourselves as we are of you. Debra Leming-Ross
  8. Thanks to all of you for all the support. The families of the climbers and the SARS really appreciate you. My brother is home safe for tonight. I don't know if he will be back on the mountain tomorrow, after two days up there he is pretty beat. May God hug you all. good night
  9. Sorry I thought I saw it too but that wasn't him. They are going back tomorrow to recover just talk to my brother 1/2 hour ago.
  10. I hope all of you who post here realise what special people you are. I hope the mountains always reach out to greet you and always send you home safe. For those like me who do not climb may all of your endeavors be life affirming
  11. Searchers feel that if the other two where in any condition to respond they would have come out of a cave so they could be seen.
  12. They id'ed him already and have notified the family
  13. My brother was there when they found the body. They will go back tomorrow to get him.
  14. Sorry didn't mean to offend you. I just meant that I know that if something happened to my brother on that mountain I could take solice in knowing he was doing a job he feels is important. HE loves that mountain and loves to climb it
