  1. Have you considered the Black Diamond Rage/Cobra? Also, if you choose the Light Wing then you could modify/create your own grip with spray rubber and silicon. Debo
  2. Can/will the Grivel trigger fit on Black Diamond Rages? Is there a way to get the Grivel hook or Viper fang to work - I know I would have to consider grinding off the pinky rest. I'm just curious if anyone had attemped this. Thanks. Debo
  3. I heard that they are no longer making the zero degree handles from a salesperson at mountain gear. Something about faults in the manufacturing process. I was also really interested in these, but I guess we'll have to wait a while. D
  4. I came up with an alternative idea, but I need someone to tell me if its stupid: how about using hockey tape for a custom grip, creating a pinky and index rest from a conduit hanger (some have used a sawed off BD Ice Clipper), and then instead of taping everything with electrical tape - use spray rubber to coat everything. It will take a few coats. I've used spray rubber on my wrenches at home and it works great. Unleash your fury. Derek
  5. I live in the Northern Lower Penninsula of Michigan. Although there is not much ice here, there is a ton of stuff 3hours away in Canada and the UP. I really appreciate all the input. Derek
  6. I love my La Sportiva Nuptse double boot - it works for the climbing I do. My problem is finding a inner boot replacement that is a lace-up. The Ice 9000 from Vasque has the exact same inner, except in a different color. No one seems to want to sell them. I've contacted La Sportiva and they told me that their athletes use Intuition Liners. The Inutition website did not help too much, but when I called them, they told me the nearest shop that carried and fit them was a 10 hour drive. There has to be an easier way. D
  7. I've been climbing on BD Rages for the past couple of years and would really like to modify them to a more leashless style. Is this possible - does anybody have any input - are there any companies that make modular pieces for tools? This ice climbing thing is still pretty new to me, so any input would be greatly appreciated. D
