awesome show, great pics!
they got so lucky with the weather! looking at their pics it would be easy to get fooled into thinking those were typical seasonal conditions! unbelievable amount of blue sky and sunshine, nice...
-
geez, someone might get the idea that you like that place...
-
nice job! thanks for the report, glad you had a good time. and how could you not be sold on alpine climbing after a perfect day like that?! LOL

I will be in the Mt Baker area through Tue and looking for partners to do something up there if you are interested.
-
check the forecast, snow by Tuesday! :-)
-
myself and a climbing partner are very interested in the NW Buttress. I sent a PM. let me know if there is other interest.
cheers, Brian :-)

I have heard that space blankets become absolutely worthless if they are wet. has anyone heard anything about this?
-
thanks Mike. I checked out the blogspot, very nice. :-)

Stone Nudes

is the calander all female pics?

Jeff H, Cman and I skied up on Nason Ridge today. We had a hard time breaking trail through the snow. Sking down you could make a turn when it was steep, but a lot of time even skiing 11s got you stopped with a huge pile of snow in front of you.
thats not "too deep", thats just snow that is too wet and heavy!
the Baker ski area is now reporting almost 300" for the month of Jan alone!!

something else to consider is to save money for a lesson. you will learn so much more, and faster, if you take a lesson. after that go practice what you learned skinning up at the resorts, like Hyak, when they are closed. eventually you will get the skills to try the BC when the conditions are good. and someday when they are bad. but even when the BC is bad it is still better than a resort! LOL

nice job! great pics, thanks for the TR.

nice pics, thanks for the stoke! :-)

still interested in giving this a go?

John, I checked out the Nunatak line and it looks like they have some pretty cool stuff. do you have any experience using there products? so they sleep as warm as claimed? pricey, but light, might be worth it if they worked well.

a working cam at Paradise...may not be the one you want but at least it is working...
-
n' this
damn that looks good! where's it at?
-
thanks for posting the TR...though after having experienced it I am not sure why I wanted to relive it by reading your post.
over 20 fucking k on a groomed trail in heavy tele gear for 3 turns! what a day. and in the rain no less...
-
wait till you turn 40. then you will turn your name into Whatisntbroken.

I love Tricams and think they are awesome, particularly for granite...or at least thats where I seem to use them the most...but maybe I am just climbing more on granite...I dunno.
and while the littlest ones get the most use I like the big ones too. but that said you will eventually want to get SLCD's too. on certain types of rock/cracks/situations the SLCD's are easier to use.
there, is that about clear as mud?! LOL

so far we have about 4 of us heading out of Snoqualmie Pass Sun. looks like we will be heading for Silver Peak. let me know if you are interested in joining us.
-
nor do I...
-
I am looking at making some turns on Sun. up and down, not round and round on the XC trails. up at the Pass I would be very interested in skiing the Crooked Couloir or the Slot Couloir.

Sep can be a great time to go and the American Alpine Institute is a great organization to go with. someone else to consider for instruction/training is Dan Mazur with SummitClimb.com. checkout their website and drop him a line if you are interested.
