Nice work guys!! That looks like an amazing climb!! I wish I could do it, maybe someday... Stupid school...

I lived in a baramoetric chamber in Alaska during training season for xc ski races. We had it set at around 8000-10000 feet. We trained at see level and slept/lived at altuitude. It worked great. They are expensive though, plus my opinion the whole altitude thing is half mental anyways, I have raced at 10,000 feet and you just need to go balls to the wall if you want to preform well. I could go both ways on the chamber. Maybe try blood doping or taking Erythropoietin in increas the number of oxygen carring hemoglobin in your blood, it will do the same thing.

Where is the best place to approch for some skiing just east of Medows?
-
Thanks for the ideas, it looks like we are heading out in the morning (sat.) and i think that East of medows might be our best option, the north face sure would be fun though!!

I need some good ideas of some good places to go for some BC Tele skiing this weekend up on Mt. Hood. I am familiar with both the North and south sides since I have climbed both. I just need a few ideas of some good places to go for this weekend. Thanks for the help.

John- So does this me that we cant carpool to Salem for the Steve House show? I guess I can drive. Maybe you should go to law school and then you could figure out a way to dig your self out of this hole.

my brother and I go leashless all the time with our quarks, they work great!!! We both have lead 4+ with out any problem, now on a long alpine route such as ham and eggs, or shaken not stired I would use the leashes. I have used John's Ergos dry tooling and they are nice!! I would say to get the ergos / nomic if you want to do more sport ice climbing, but grab leashes for the long alpine climbs. I have also used my quarks for DT and they work fine.

Horace Mann, It took forever to see any money. But I guess that is typical. They have a branch in Alaska (where I live when I am not in school) so thats why I have them.

Just got my checks last week, $3,600.00 for the car and $7,000.00 for what was inside for the car. Thank goodness for homeowners and car insurance!!

I had a pair of the Awax toolz and was not a huge fan of the leash system. I found that it would pop out of the hooks while I was not weighting the tool, not quite ideal in some situations. The Awax toolz are nice, but they dont have enough head weight and the grips ar sub-par.

didnt I see a bolt gun on the movie Cliffhanger??? That might work.
Actually I have seen concrete anchor guns which use 22cal. rounds that puch holes. It might work.

I own two pairs of the bionics ans I really like te replaceable front points so when I go to dry tool night I dont have to empty out my checking acount for some good times at Rocky Butte. John does have some good points on the "rake" point, I think it is personall prefrance. I think you would be happy with the bionics, or M10.

Here is my stolen car story-
Well I parked my car next to good Sam Hospital at 3:45pm and went for a 45min run up a Forest Park and by the time I got back my car was gone. So in 45min they stole it. Pretty crappy deal
Here is the good news my car has been found!!!!! Except that there is a couple of broken windows and EVERYTHING inside is totally thrashed!!!! Plus they took everthing I had and replaced it with a bunch of trash and garbage!! I am going to meet with the insurance adjuster today and all I can say is that I am glad that I have full coverage issurance!!!!!! Anyways that is the story thus far....

My 4-Runner got stolen today in NW Portland... It is red, older style 1992. It has a Yakima ski box on top with many stickers on it. If anyone sees it please PM me that would be great... For the person who finds my car free Thanks for keeping your eyes open!!

I got the pleasure to hand out with Jill in AK this summer, the book is really good!! I wish I could go!! I am sure it will be a great time!!

To my understading they close the road so that it does not get to thrashed, since the road is not plowed it poses a problem if there is a lot of snow. Every year the road closes at different times, I dont think it is going to close for awhile, but it does sound like we might get a ton of snow from this storm.
