  1. There seems to be more younger women at climbing gyms than regular health clubs, like 24 Hr Fitness. There also seems to be a higher ratio of women to men at climbing gyms, but not necessarily more women than men, although that actually could be true, I haven't checked. Cascade Crags is small so it's hit or miss on any night. I think Stone Gardens is more fun than 24 Hr since it's climbing and that's what the objective is anyway.

  2. my online persona to be an incomplete match with my real-life personality ?

The best way to find out is for ChrisT to go visit knotzen in person and say

You forgot the option of "completely self-absorbed"
and for ChrisT to report back what knotzen's response is. By comparing that response to the online response we will have the answer.

So should ChrisT bother ? No, because online is a lot more convenient and no one really cares THAT much. And besides, if we didn't have "online" this issue never would have come up in the first place, so why is it even an issue worth contemplating ?

How can any of us know our true selves?
    - That's easy - post spray and reread what we write.

    Who are we?
    - pawns of internet technology

    Why are we here?
    - to have fun on weekends

    Where are we going?
    - wherever the conditions are good that weekend

Is George Bush really the antichrist?
    - he's making a serious attempt at it but he's too bogged down in incompetency.

  3. The northwest doesn't seem to be that much of a dirt bag climber locale, like, for example, Yosemite or S. Cal. Places like Marblemount or Leavenworth would be hard to hang out at, on the cheap, year round and why would you want to? So you have to have some amount of $ to be here and that usually takes a job no matter what you do in your spare time, be it golf or climbing. Unless you are really short on dough and you are here, in which case you probably wouldn't pursue either of those. An exception is students who may be broke but are going in debt to be paid back later with a lucrative career using their hard earned degree in, say, Philosophy. If the career doesn't work out they flee their collection agencies and become dirt bag climbers in Yosemite, not here.
