Thanks Dru,
Do you know if Sean was sucsessful on the East face? Also do you know if John Black and Chris Rowe ever finished a route on the Winslow Wall?
Karl
Does anyone know if there have been any recent atempts on the NE buttress or East Face of Steinbok? By recent I mean since the Edwards-Spagnut route in 94.
Thanks in advance,
Karl
Yes, we made it and we did paddle back down the Faser, which saved energy but not time.
We also climbed the South East ridge (just to climber's left of the Hanging valley route). Does anyone know if this route has been climbed before?
Karl
Has anyone around here climbed the Northeast Buttress of Steinbok? Or know someone who has? I know Kevin gives a pretty detailed discription in the Alpine Select but I can't resist trolling for more beta. Is it really 5.9,A2 or is it Rockies 5.9,A2?
Karl
Brock and I climbed the NE Buttress on Saturday the 24th and we brought axes and left them on the pack the whole day. We also didn't find any water on the route (some snow at the 4th class section) or the decent. Both the Slesse and bypass glaciers are pretty much gone and it is possible to avoid walking under very much ice if you cross into the bypass glacier via the upper notch in the wooded spur (coming from the propeller monument).
Great route! Good luck.
Karl
