  1. Wait, I thought I was gd? Now I'm martlet? Make up your mind, marylou.
  2. JoshK calling something dumb. HA!
  3. Ain't the sharpest marble in the baggie now are we? Scott: Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't marbles supposed to be round (you know like a hemisphere)? Why would one desire a "sharp" marble? Are you trying to make a point? Just a minor point, NOLSe: a 'hemisphere' would only constitute half of a marble. DOH! HA!
  4. You could start with keeping your dogs on a leash and not rushing people with loaded guns.
  5. Huh... That might work for you Seattleites, but somepeeople have jobs requiring them to have guns in the wilderness... Yeah I have no problem with that, if it's your job. Look at that! You've got justin's seal of approval. That must make it ok!
  6. The article suggested that "back then" the people didn't criticize the judgement of those running the government. If you don't think Lincoln wasn't criticized for his actions during the Civil War, you better go do some reading. Lincoln had a huge number of detractors who fought him tooth and nail. The country was divided. It was only through his keen political skills that Lincoln was able to stay the course. Funny, I didn't get that at all. No, I'm not gonna even fuckin bother to look Of course you aren't, because you're making up facts again. I'm beginning to see a trend with you. Caught lying, making up facts.....
  7. Yeah? What do you cut your steak with? So it's survivability that determines whether or not something is illegal? What about baseball bats, then? Those are pretty deadly, and serve no purpose. Perhaps we should ban them. Intent. Someone rushing at you with balled fists and three dogs is obviously intent. He should instead endure a mauling because killing is bad? Not in my world.
  8. I wasn't there. I don't know. Maybe the dogs ran after the first shot, but he kept coming. Beats me.
  9. Yes, ban guns in government-managed wilderness. We should ban cars to save people from being victims of road rage. We should ban knives to save people from stabbings. We should ban fists to save people from beatings.
  10. By the same reason you are admitting that the dog-owner was innocent of any aggression toward the shooter By the same reason? Are you on crack? The authorities deemed it justifiable. Your whiny anti-gun agenda doesn't change that. What's debateable is should people be allowed to carry guns around, and should there be a penalty for shooting someone to death. Perhaps they shouldn't be allowed to drive, either. Or own knives. Or make a fist. Or baseball bats. And there IS a penalty for shooting someone to death, unless it's justified.
  11. Again, no proof of a raging maniac, nor dogs attacking. What happened to "innocent until proven guilty", or does that only exist when it supports the liberal asshat agenda?
  12. two separate courses, here.
  13. Could you post a link to that?
  14. Don't get me wrong there would be nothing stopping you from taking your gun hiking, but if you did use it, there would be a consequence, the severity of which depending on the circumstances, of course. Such as a raging maniac with 3 dogs attacking you. Perfectly legal.
  15. Hmmm, I thought you said he got "the boot from the National Post for being such a moronically sentimental right wing buffoon" You weren't lying were you?
  16. You're right, our judicial system doesn't seem to have a penalty for just shooting someone to death. Sure it does. In some cases that penalty is death. Just not when it's self defence. But I'd like to see his guns taken away, and if there isn't a legal basis for doing so, I'd like to see one in the future. So you ARE in favor of indiscriminately violating people's constitutional rights. That's where the second part comes in, banning taking guns into a government-managed wilderness unless you have a special reason (such as, you are a park ranger, or a contracted cougar-slayer or whatever). That way, there would be a penalty, and a legal burden on the shooter in cases like this. There's no good basis for doing so. Unless you think "because justin wills it" is a good reason. Most won't.
  17. Really? That's not what Matthew Fraser says. He also says readers were "disgruntled by Steyn's absence. It sounds like even the liberal rags wanted him.
  18. Take his guns away Take his guns away for what? He didn't break any laws. Or are you just in favor of indiscriminately violating people's constitutional rights.
  19. Qooh yeah. We've really got things under control in Pakistan. Are you serious? Do you even follow world politics? Pakistan was the chief supporter of the taliban. Now they're one of our leading allies in the region. That's even in the "fake" news. Do you even read? Thank you for supporting our troops. I've BEEN our troops, idiot. When you get the balls to don a uniform and stand a freaking post, then I'll accept your criticism. Until then, you're just another liberal coward crying about people doing a job you don't have the balls to do.
  20. It has lowered our standing in the world to such a low that we have less political power to find Al Qaeda in other countries Like where? Pakistan? Libya? Did you even read the link I posted?
  21. If the guy was threatened by the dogs, he should have shot the dogs. Course, then he probably would've got in much more trouble Apparently he was more afraid of the guy running at him with clenched fists.
  22. Fat Teddy, you are a fucking idiot. How the hell do you know what happened? Last time I checked violation of a leash law doesn't get the self-administered death penalty. Excellent factual argument. How old are you, 6? Don't worry, you get smarter with age.......usually.
  23. Minor flaws = couple thousand dead or injured americans. Those aren't even flaws. They're products of war. Greater good = avenging Bush father, dropping the ball on Al Qaeda and making us all more vulnerable to terrorists When was the last time Al Qaeda hit the US? We can all do some good if we get us out of there, or at the very least get our incompetent commander in chief out of there. We're doing good now. The fact that you can't see that brings us back to my original point, your lack of comprehension. Unless you're over there right now, this sounds pretty damn hollow. Of course it does to you, sitting in WA basking in the freedom that I helped provide, criticizing people doing something you're too scared to do yourself.
  24. Yeah? What would you do? Interview the zero witnesses? Beat the guy into confession?
  25. My neighbors black lab didn't look vicious either. It blinded a 3 year old boy in one eye, though. Dragged him down the street by the face. If someone points a gun at me, fires a warning shot, I turn around. You don't, you die. Keep your dogs on a leash so my right to walk isn't infringed upon and we'll get along fine.
