  1. Don,

You had me at "luv ya babe".

But besides that, Slaveway employees are unionized and could negotiate that BS away if they chose to.

At Fred Meyer, the grocery workers are union and the rest of them are not. I shop accordingly.

Fresh water fish are worth eating if the water is cold enough (like in the high lakes), but otherwise, it's all for fun! I don't eat those fish, I play with them.

  2. Like other social neanderthals, FW hates women, but he especially hates women that have power. Liberal women with power positively drive him insane with hatred. I hope Darcy wins just to make his world a little more miserable.

    Hear hear!

  3. They are the only grocery near my house that has a bakery and deli--keep in mind I was shopping for a camping/fishing trip and Slaveway's often a good choice for that. Rarely do I go there otherwise.

Akhalteke, I don't know who you are, but slamming me for not liking being bugged at Safeway's pret-ty lame. Why not stick to what they cover on Fa(u)x News and working on learning how to spell "manifest"....

  4. I just went to get some provisions for my fly fishing trip this weekend. Had to interact with around 20 Safeway employees who wanted to say hi, ask me if they could help me find anything, or just generally get in my face with excessive cheerfulness and obnoxious false platitudes.

I'm not sure why Safeway's policy is "harass every customer"--as if that stupid card they make ya carry's not enough....

  5. New polls suggest McCain and Obama are running neck and neck.

Really? We must not get our news from the same sources, because I heard today that some polls have Obama up by as much as ten points nationally.

  6. LOL.

Well, yanno Christopher Buckley, son of Bill, and (formerly) of the National Review, endorsed Obama. That makes it more confusing as well....

What's next, cats and dogs living together under the same roof? (and McCain, Palin, and their 16 wack job supporters) out on the carport?

  7. Any woman who is passionate about climbing, skiing, biking, paddling, fly-fishing, or anything active in the outdoors and is brave enough to post a photo here is a 10 in my book.

    Ask and you shall receive.

Edit: I still can't get pics to post--can a mod edit this so the pic will come up? Thx!

oh, yes, their are problems but nothind needing a drastic rethink. Mutual funds have the same problem with extortionate administrative fees adn participation can be fixed by changing from opt-in to opt-out.

Employee contributions are always optional. with any luck, your HR department or union trustees have found a plan with reasonable fees.

now employer matchs and the form they take need a change imho.

Why? That's all negotiable with the employer, whether it's one person or a group of people in a CBA.

  9. Justin, since you admit you don't know the first thing about 401ks, why do you persist in trying to lord over people who actually DO have them?
I already said I didn't know what risk options are provided in most 401Ks, but if you had an one that forced you to buy only stocks, then nothing I am saying has anything to do with you. Clear?

Right, and the vast majority of the investment options for a 401K are mutual funds, which are comprised of....stocks.

  10. I'm just glad I'm not near retirement age...

You do understand, Marylou, that one must actually work in order to retire?

Just like you, I have a fulltime job--the difference being mine is not contributing to the obesity of America's children, and the adult onset diabetes of adults. :o

  11. Off the current subject here but did you guys notice how many times McCain blinked?

Palin told us again and again that we must not blink!!

I found the blinking more than a little distracting. Maybe he was doing it so we would not pay attention to the drivel falling out of his mouth.

Joe the Plumber turned into an impromptu drinking game where I was watching the debate.
