If the rich are hurtin' so much then why are they raking in more and more?

It's not a matter of "hurting." It is a matter of entitlement; the government claims an entitlement to the earned wealth of people who work hard and are successful. They exercise this entitlement in an unfair, and unequal way. They punish, in essence, those who have made themselves successful by imposing upon them higher taxes.

Oh please, not this again. If the upper incomes are getting so screwed then why has the large gap between the upper end and everyone else been increasing the fastest ever in the last 20 years. Gimme a break. Marginal tax rates are the lowest they've been in 50 years, the inheritance tax is fazing out. Oh poor guys, they have such a heavy burden.

So, because successful people ARE successful that means you have a right to THEIR income, THEIR wealth, and THEIR labor? I don't understand this mentality. People talk about equality and 'fairness', but turn a blind eye when they see statistics like are in that chart. On a percentage basis, why should someone earning $250,000 pay more than someone earning $30,000? And come up with something better than, "because they can afford it". That is not a logical reason. A flat tax is fair and equitable.

  3. Get him back: don't take any initiative and only do what he tells you to do. When you finish, go to him and ask what to do next. He doesn't want your brain (presumably why you were hired), he only wants some schlub to validate his position of authority. Fuck 'im.

"I think Joe Stalin was a guy that was hugely misunderstood. And to this day, I don't think I have ever seen an adequate job done of telling the story of Joe Stalin, so I guess my answer would have to be Joe Stalin." - actor, Ed Asner, responding to the question, "If you had the chance to play the biographical story of a historical figure you respected most over your lifetime, who would it be?"

Wow, when I feel misunderstood I don't exterminate several million of my neighbors. Maybe "Uncle Joe" just needed a group hug. hellno3d.gifrolleyes.gif Proof that actors ARE stupid.

  5. I'm not really sure if this belongs here or not, I'm quite new to the site. Has anyone heard rumors about raptors on, or near, Godzilla at the Index Lower Town Wall?

I climbed it recently and noticed what looked like nest fragments and guano in the vicinity to the right. I happened to mention this in passing to a friend who works for the Sierra Club in the area. Right away she mentioned that would look into it. I received an e-mail from her several days later which said that several of her colleagues were going to look into it.

I think I've made an error in telling her. She's pretty committed to her work, and I think she might raise some flags. I've climbed at Index a couple of times and never seen nesting raptors, but maybe I was there at the wrong time.

  6. Back on topic, I find that I have "butterflies", or what have you, when facing a tough lead, and I may not feel into it. However, I usually go for it anyway because it is simply self-doubt, and I come out better for it. It's part of overcoming fear and outside influences. When I have felt way out of it, I have backed off.

    Keep leading, carolyn.
