Yep, he's been one of my faves to listen to for awhile. If you like Nick Drake, you may like one of my favorite local musicians, Damien Jurado. Jurado does and amazing cover of Nick Drakes "Pink Moon."

Sure, I will take a U for $50, Pat. <I 'm sure if I did f myself, you'd want to watch.>

Hello gentlemen! I would like to know how many of you shave your nutsack? Yeti, I like the bath suggestion.

another vote for Seattle! I have been looking forward to attending my first pube club. Ooops, pub club. For some reason I can't get pube out of my head. Must be the 'shaving" post sending me subliminal messages. Is someone working the jedi mind trick on me?? Tomorrow, we drink!!!

Dudes, if I reveal this little fact, it may ruin the surprise for any future sex partners who may be lurking around here.

When HE wants to cuddle and talk afterwards. When HE is not in the mood. When people answer their cell phone in a restaurant or in a movie. When people mistreat animals and children. When you are climbing and the guy on a neighboring route is shouting up to a newbie climber every single F*&^$^g move to make. When a group "camps" on a couple of routes - leaves their topropes up all day and you never get a chance to climb it. Happens at Smith all the time. When one of your party of 3 cancels at the last minute on a glacier climb, for no reason. I have climbed too many glaciers as a party of two. When people feel it necessary to shove their opinion in your face, and you could care less because you loath them no matter what they say. Planning an alpine climb during a really bad mosquito or black fly hatch and they swarm you all day and their is no escape. THAT IS WORSE THAN SNAFFLEHOUNDS GETTING IN MY PACK!!! I'm gonna go have a beer. . . .

I love it! Fun climbs galore!!!

I don't think anyone could have capture the essence of the evening so beautifully, UT! I wish we were doing it again tonight!

It was fun to meet all the people that I did! Great time! I left at 11:45, around the time the guys started talking about how hard it would be to cut your arm off with a pocket knife. But never saw a cop. The slides were great too. I will be going to Pub Clubs now that I have finally met some people!

I will bring some veggie burgers and hotdogs for non-meat eaters.

Yep, I will be there for sure. Bringing veggie burgers and stuff.

Shin Ramyun Korean Ramen "Hot and Spicy" Where can I pick this up? Being a freelancer who is mostly unemployed, I could use another good cheap food option!

I need more people to climb with. I basically want to be out climbing every weekend. I haven't been out too much yet this year - spent a week at Smith Rock, been up to Little Si and a couple of nights at the gym. I do lead trad and sport, but am no rope gun. I am into glacier climbing and those lovely alpine routes, too. My main focus has been waterfall ice climbing and have also done some gorgeous routes on glacier ice. Reid Headwall of Mt. Hood, North Face of Mt. Baker, Fuher Finger on Rainier. Would like to make some trips up to Squamish, down to Red Rocks, over to City of Rocks. Male or female partners, doesn't matter. (I'm a chick.) Let me know, we could meet for a beer if you are in the Seattle area. I am a fun, easy going person who just wants to climb!

a.) Don't have a husband, but because of Trask's reply, I think I would prefer my SO to not climb with other women. b.) My relationships with guys who don't climb, don't last very long. I say it's better to be involved with a Climber. Most definately! c.) No problem, I will just teach him to place pro. I am sure he'd change pretty quick to the trad side. Anyways, I have the correct "goods" to dangle in front of him, if he needs any convincing. Thanks Trask!

My opinion is that t he curved hexes don't place as well as the Hexcentrics. They seem to fit a little sloppy because of the curves in some cracks. But, I am sure there will be equal arguements for and against them. I'd say 4 out of 5 times the BD Hexes end up being the piece I place.

Did anyone go to Smiff this weekend? Was it crowded? How was the weather? Where'd you camp? Are the car break-ins still a problem? I am heading off for a week at Smiff next week and just curious how things are shaping up there. Looking forward to the climbing, camping and Black Butte Porter!

Yes, there is a slight resemblence to Keith Richards!

It took some practice, but I have learned to pee quite well in a wide mouth nalgene. I have also used a heavy duty, freezer zip lock bag. Opens wide and is quite lightweight. But that was just a one time thing. But I would probably use it again in a pinch. I have thought about buying a wide mouth tupperware container just specifically peeing. But to get good at this stuff, ya just gotta practice. Haven't tried the lady j and I'm not interested in drinking my own piss. Now, pour me another Black Butte Porter!

Thanks all for your opinions. There are so many great routes out there to climb. Maybe all the classics would be worth it, maybe not. Who knows - it's a goal. Vertical movement is all good.
-
Yep, I have done both Forbidden and Stuart. Anyone have anything to say about the other routes? Come on, give up some beta.
-
I have done two of these routes already, but my partner has not done any of them. We want to climb all 5 this summer. Anyone done them all, or have any feedback, or interesting stories about the routes? Rainier - Liberty Ridge Forbidden - West Ridge Stuart - North Ridge Liberty Bell - Lib. Bell Crack Shuksan - Price Glacier

You know you've had a good day at Vantage...
ChocChick replied to catbirdseat's topic in Climber's Board
I usually have fun at Vantage, though it is not my favorite spot to sport climb. I prefer alpine, but hey it is vertical movement and it's all good. I did see the Aurora Borealis while camping there in the fall. It was gorgeous.
