  1. I like reading the TRs. Even the most mundane climb and be an interesting TR with some pictures and something to say. It gets boring on this site sometimes when it is all BS/Spray and nobody actually talking about getting out and doing something.

So take some pictures and post some TRs, i'll read them. If you don't like it read something else.

  2. Trip: Kendall -

    Date: 12/6/2009

    Trip Report:

Jeff H and i went up to snoqualmie with an idea of skiing Lundin but without much expectation of great conditions. We were surprised to find it snowing hard and a lot of new snow, as much as a foot up high. It was still icy in the trees and not much new snow in there so we opted for Kendall. Good turns were had, an interesting mix of powder on carvable crust. The trees coming down where decent in the open parts, smooth crust with powder, and terrible in the tighter trees, icy and pockmarked with little new snow. Overall a fun ski and unexpectedly good.

    Gear Notes:

    No camera, no pics

    Approach Notes:

Still early season conditions with much funkiness and creeks.

  3. Thanks for the list Fender. Keep them coming.

I was up at the K Cliff today, which was pretty clean. We also climbed Al's Armed Response, which was filthy but a fun climb. I was wishing i had brought some brushes so i could clean up these ones. It seems like there are tons of forgotten routes that are fun climbs and could be brought back to life with some cleaning and some climber traffic.

  4. Good times and some excellent ski conditions were had by all. Here are a few shots from sunday on the skin up to kangaroo ridge and the ski down into willow creek.

It was nice to meet everyone and the cabin is a great place to camp out.

  5. Micah,

I wouldn't beat yourself up too much, i am sure plenty of people on this site, myself included, have gotten some booty at some point in their climbing, pro, draws, biners, whatever. I know i justified it by calling it "booty"

just drop them off at VW seattle and bret will be happy

  6. nice pics.

we skied Arrowhead yesterday, no photos as i forgot the camera. it was a beautiful sunny day and the conditions were actually pretty decent. there was a firm crust up high that we mostly stayed on top of. down lower the crust was firmer and the snow was more corn like.

All in all a good day, i am ready for some spring too.

  7. the easier of those routes was my first and only dws. it was easy, 5.6 until the last move. the other route looked fairly hard, going across the underside of the road deck. i never got up the nerve to give that one a try, too afraid of taking a backsplat from 30ft.

next time just make all the holds grey and mabye they will stay up a little longer.

  8. i have had a couple softshell jackets. I love the how breathable they are, but they don't hold the heat too well. i just layer based on the activity level and temps, and bring some kind of puffy for taking breaks.

when i am backcountry skiing i usually have to take the softshell off on the uphills because it is way to hot.
