  1. Is the snow still deep enough to require snowshoes?
  2. A friend called to let me know about he following:Tuesday, April 2, 7pmDavid BreashearsKilimanjaro: Journey to the Roof of AfricaTalk, Slide Show & Book SigningUW Campus: Kane Hall, Room 120Climbing Kilimanjaro has been likened to a journey from the equator to the poles, with climactic changes from tropical forest to frozen desert. The beauty and complexity of this noble mountain is celebrated with the words of Audrey Salkeld and the photography of David Breashears.Ticket Required - tickets available beginning March 15 at all our locations, while supplies last. http://www.bookstore.washington.edu/ubs/main.taf?area=events&page=events&catagory=events&nav=on Cheers, scott
  3. I couldn't go last night. Anyone have a summary? cheers,scott
  4. I've got an older Megamid that I got for about $129 at campmor.com last fall. We camped up at Dead Horse Creek (above Paradise) at Rainier a few weeks back. There were three of us plus gear. Condensation became a serious issue in the middle of the night. It became a dripping lodge. Another issue is the person in the middle was fairly cramped against the center pole almost to the point of not being able to sleep comfortably. I would concur with the others that you really have to stake that baby down in high winds. I got it because it weighs about 3lb 8oz and it sets up pretty quickly. Cheers, scott
