but the matrix had marital arts. doh!

As did Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

    documentaries dont count.

    SYNOPSIS

Named "Best Picture of the Year" by over 100 critics nationwide! Two master warriors (Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh) are faced with their greatest challenge when the treasured Green Destiny sword is stolen. A young aristocrat (Zhang Ziyi) prepares for an arranged marriage, but soon reveals her superior fighting talents and her deeply romantic past. As each warrior battles for justice, they come face to face with their worst enemy - and the inescapable, enduring power of love. Set against 19th-century China's breathtaking landscape, CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON is the action-packed, box office smash from acclaimed director Ang Lee (Sense and Sensibility, The Ice Storm) featuring stunning martial arts choreography by Yuen Wo Ping (The Matrix).

  3. I saw The Rollins Band in PDX back when Tool was the unknown opening act. We arrived early during daylight hours to find the place, and the tour bus was parked in front of the venue. Henry Rollins was hanging out on the sidewalk talking to people -- hadn't seen anything like that before, and haven't seen it since. thumbs_up.gif

"I believe that today more than ever a book should be sought after even if it has only one great page in it. We must search for fragments, splinters, toenails, anything that has ore in it, anything that is capable of resuscitating the body and the soul."

I read this exact passage last night in Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer. hellno3d.gif

but the truth does not necessarily lie exactly in the middle of either 'sides'.

Yeah, if there were a truth it would be on the other side of the universe or right under your nose. But either way, you wouldn't be able to see it! yellaf.gif

... I think the climbers around here should go or not go, but give the shit talk a rest. What's done is done. ...

There are two sides to every story. There is no truth, as it is always a matter of individual perception. There is no right or wrong, only choices.

I agree that it is what it is, and you can choose to either participate or not.

  5. If you haven't bought gear yet, the gym is a good place to go and try it out first. If you know that it's something you want to put your time (and money) into, then buy yourself a harness, shoes, and chalkbag. Once you have your personal climbing gear, you can go to a gym or local area, hang out, and introduce yourself to people -- tell them you are new to the area, just starting out, have your own gear, and are looking to climb.

    Good luck. Have fun.

By the way, it cannot be that secret as the key hold was very well chalked.

Everything under that roof is buried in chalk... it must have been camouflaged! Or maybe the secret hold was so secret I used it without knowing it? At any rate, a fun climb. thumbs_up.gif

yeah like us poor girls aren't subjected to this look too damn often. Some tub with his gut spewing over his harness without a shirt hellno3d.gifhellno3d.gif

It always seems that those who shouldn't do, while those that should don't. rolleyes.gif Of course, there are exceptions!

What if you are using a GriGri?

Under what circumstances does one use a GriGri to provide a lead belay?

In my limited experience, quickly feeding large amounts of slack with a GriGri is not an easy task. When a leader wants slack, they want it now!!! and in those situations a GriGri seems to work against me more than it works with me.

He tries that cowboy shit down there and they'll have him pistol whipped, hog tied, fed through a brush chipper, and processed into several batches of cocaine before he can say "John Wayne."

Would that be before or after the diplomatic immunity kicks in? yellaf.gif
