Glacier peak was the usual, a hell of a lot easier than my first trip 8 yrs ago when I wore plastics on the approach like a novie.(novice) Dug the register out of the snow and ice, a great time had by all!

I luv skinny dippin! It's been awhile, last time was yang-yang lakes and white rock lakes. Tank lakes is a favorite, never have seen a soul. The joy of skinny dippin after a climb, nothing like it; next to @#!!

why do we need to boast such things as 10b? It's one thing if it's an accomplishment that you really worked at, it's another to talk shit when you still have you're feet on the ground. I'm proud of the climbs I have completed, but hope I don't come across as 'I just bagged that peak, how bout you?' as if 'what do you have to say for yourself?' I would say it's about the magnificent peaks and terrain, combined with the physical challenge that we pursue these places. Leave the attitudes at home...we are all in pusuit of the same pleasure gained with climbing. What gives with these folks being anal about having others join in? Has the click mentality from high school not been shed?

Hi Matt, in response to populated areas such as Muir. It's more to the tune of, no dogs in national parks, kind of has a ring to it no? We have three amazing national parks in Wa. before I owned a dog, I would have thought nothing of it, I have to admit it would be nice to take them along.

roboclimber, just took my dog up Mt. Larabee yesturday, I think it was a bit much, but she made it, kind of freaked out on the summit scramble though. I think it's just a notch over safety for both dogs and those around when there is loose rock just waiting to lurch at those below. Alpinek said he heard there are sun glasses for dogs out there somewhere, worth investigating for sure. Sounds rediculous, but for all the winter and spring skiing days, let alone summer climbs on snow, I don't believe a dogs retina varies that much from our mere mortal selves. The question remains...how long will they last on the dog? Up for a dog friendly climb/hike anytime...is it 4:20 already? Behave yourselves ruthless climbers. \"/

Glad to hear you're still climbing! I am surprised to hear Helen is living with someone, hope it works out for her. I got the 'bug' to get out of the city last year and the ranger job was the ticket, although I have to say it's damn quiet up here sometimes, but location to the mountains makes up for it. Never climbed w/that chick again after Baker, I should have seen it coming, no whimps allowed!! Glad all is well with you, funny to run into you here, small world, or I should say climbing community.

Thanks Matt, I'll heed your advise. As for the ski/mountaineering w/the pooch, Sulphide on Shuksan is great early Spring before the road completely melts, no rangers, and few people, did it this Easter, saw no-one for 2 beautiful days. Baker you can bring your dog, my pooch summited last summer, just complaints from other climbers about being unroped w/a dog, I was skiing the route. Close to Seattle, lots of awesome stuff at Chrystals backcountry. Pilchuk or Dickerman in the winter can be done. As for others, I'm still investigating options.

I never worked on Rainier's North side, just hung out and climbed with ranger friends that worked at Shurman. '96-'98. Has anyone climbed the Tahoma sickle route in Sunset Amplitheater in the past year or two?

Ok, no studs needed, just fellow climbing enthusiasts. Strickland, have you climbed the Sisters? I can't believe they called off the search for the missing man from Wa. Having lost my brother in an avy back in the eighties and working for mountain rescue myself, I find it hard to give up on searching. My thoughts are with his family and the heartache of the unknown in which they suffer. On a lighter note, I may be moving to Bend next fall to take a job, not sure if I'm ready to be land locked. Climb on!

Any good looking, saavy and single climbers out there? Actually, anyone who enjoys bagging a peak on weekends would suffice, I know this isn't a dating site. I usually do ski climbs early season, I'm a pinhead, looking at trying the splitboard next season. Anyway, I do have a dog who enjoys bagging peaks as well, so I don't do much rock anymore, although I could leaver her home on occasion. Let's go climbing!
