  1. Max-Re your funny contrails...well you're lucky to still be talking about it...no really...the contrails are reputed to be from the new super secret snoopy spy plane that our guvment now uses called the Aurora...How quaint that you'd see the Aurora in Colorado...First was noticed by commericial airline pilots, and then Popular Mech did some next gen spy plane stuff and let the cat out of the bag to the mainstream...of course the whacko types who hang outside Area 51 had been crowing for awhile about it...

You wouldnt think that our wonderful guvment would retire thier best spy plane without a replacement? Hell no...

The ring shaped contrails are said to be formed from the scram/ram type propuslsion that the Aurora uses to propel to WAY crazy fast...

  2. My last and final attempt at sporto lead climbing...I was at Mazama and managed to hook up my ATC super funky thru the rope(set the rope doubled thru the chains to make a top rope out of it) and nearly managed to pull the rope all the way thru my ATC...bout pissed myself...

Of course the time I was at Castle Rock with Halling and after topping a pitch and coming to the belay/achor point, I hooked into the anchor and he managed to make me wet myself with a "oh no, whats with that...oh no!!!!" that was followed by a frantic what what what what as I pissed myself....I think I used up a life just scaring myself...

  3. I wonder being involved in such good ole white trash sports as snowmobiling, I think that it has one of THE highest MPSP ratios out there...MPSP = Mullets Per Sports Participants...However...I wonder within climbing what the MPSP ratio may be...

If you have a mullet, once had a mullet, or are a closet mullet wannabe...Be proud stand tall proclaim it for all to hear...

    Viva la Mullet...

As for myself, I hate long hair, never have had a mullet...but if I were to grow it out...yes...yes it would be a mullet...

  4. -->REAL<-- diesel use compression ignition...

Case study: I ride a snowmobile...we have a 26' v-nose enclosed trailer, with 4 sled it weighs 6500#. There are 3 of us who take turns towing during sled season. I have a '96 Dodge 12valver, a '98 Dodge 24 valver, and a '97 Powerstroke...

Towing up Snoqualmie and up the northside of Tiger Mtn...we are all within just a couple of mph of each other...but the kicker is when we ditch the trailer, us Dodge boys get about 3-5 more mpg than the Powerjoker does...

They all are decent trucks, I just like the fact that Cummins lists thier service life before MINOR overhaul at 300,000 miles...shoot at 122K, I've only got it broke in...

  5. Seven-TEEN thousand PSI...mommy make it stop burning it hurts...

Thankfully the mid duty series Cummins dont have glow plugs like the PowerJoke does...It uses a grid heater to heat the intake air for cold starts...Yep more than a couple engines ruined from fractured glow plug pieces...

Whats nifty is the Excursion has the option to get it with a PowerJoke...the Excursion is built on Ford 3/4 Ton extended cab pick-up chassis...talk about yuppy overkill...a 3/4 ton chassis AND a diesel...wow.

  6. How many spark plugs does a V-8 diesel have????

Diesel engines have compression ratios on the magnitude of 26 thru 32 to 1. Whereas most automobiles are between 8 and 9 to 1. The reason diesels have such high compression ratios is that there is no spark plugs. The fuel is auto-ignited when compressed at that high of a ratio. The tolerances in a diesel actually start out looser, as the heat generated from that is much greater, therefore thermal expansion has to be taken into account. This is also the reason why my Cummins takes a 3 gallon oil change. The volume of the oil is required to feed spray bars that spray directly to the bottom side of the piston crown to aid in cooling.

Diesel is injected at about 17,000 PSI to form a super fine mist and to overcome the rising compression pressures as the piston is coming towards top dead center. I would reccomend checking the line pressure with your finger tip. Automotive fuel injection systems run on about 80 psi injection pressure.

Diesels create torque. Torque is work. Torque is generated via the super high compression ratios and mech advantage- large pistons and long strokes. Cummins diesels are an in-line 6 cylinder which then creates more torque. The powerstrokes are a V-8 which creates more horsepower. The increased gas mileage chiefly is gained from the lowered RPM's...My truck cruises at about 1700 RPM doing 70 down the road...The truck by itself wieghs 7100# empty...I can tow another 6500# and still maintain 13-14 mpg...

Damn wasnt this thread about spraying TNF? I just love all the posuers...Maybe we can get Calvin peeing on the TNF logo stickers???

Rumor has it Larson drives an avalanche...

  7. Dammit all to hell....the day is done and I didnt make my goal...oh well the doughnuts were good this morning at least...I hope that I have laid the groundwork for continued efforts to get this to 14 pgs today...

    Spray on Brothers!!!

  8. Lets do it Cavie...straight to the top!!!

I have a couple mullet wigs, a Big Johnson t-shirt of choice, and several Calvin peeing on (insert topc here) stickers for the back window of our truck...

I've never smoked pot in my life, but after this I think I may have to...

  9. Dammit...thought Id take some of the best spray topics and combine them...smoking pot, snowmobile on Baker, and this Larson feller...

So...in an effort to try even harder(and really just to get to pg 14 today)...

What would happen if you were to smoke pot on a snowmobile while on Mt Baker in transit to L-Worth to watch Dan Larson clip bolts on DDD while Cavie and Crew chop them above him, then later cruise over to Heavens Gate and start a War?

  10. I RIDE A SNOWMOBILE!!!!

But I guess the question is: Should you smoke pot while riding a snowmobile buzzing climbers on Baker???

That should get the flames going!!!!
