  1. Anyone been up the tilly jane trail lately? Heading up to hood this weekend and was curious about the snow conditions on the approach.
  2. I'd like to do the North face of Hood this weekend if anyone is interested. Planning on hiking from Tilly Jane trailhead saturday morning and camping around cooper spur then climbing the face that night. I've done all the routes on the west side of hood (w/ the exception of Yocum) and am comfortable unroped on steep slopes but would like a partner since this is my first foray onto the North side. Pm if interested or send me an email at flatnose1@hotmail.com
  3. A friend and I camped at the saddle on saturday night planning to do the sandy but bailed after encountering knee-deep snow on the descent from the saddle to reid. You might be alright tonite if it gets cold enough, plus ther'll be a nice boot path all the way to the top courtesy of the poor souls who who postholed all the way up the coulouir on sunday morning.
  4. Has anybody been up the Tilly Jane trail lately to approach the east side. I'm planning on doing Cooper spur this weekend and want to know if there's any purpose in dragging my board up there for the descent.
  5. Planning on climbing Kautz this weekend, weather permitting. Trying to decide whether to carry over and down the dc route or descend the climbing route. Any suggestions?
  6. My friend Chris and I climbed Sandy on Tuesday morning. We took the most direct finish at the end of the headwall, probably somewhere close to the 1937 variation. The last 100 ft or so gets pretty steep, about 60 degree hard snow. A great finish and a fun route, highly recommended!
