8-mile road will be gated until the road dries out, not just melts out. It really does mess up the road to have it driven on too early...

Does anyone know the current conditions in Icicle canyon? Is the road open past Bridge Creek?No, the road was plowed to 8-mile road and is still closed at that point. How much snow is up high on the valley slopes? Almost no snow on the North side of the valley, still quite a bit on the South side. Can you get to 8-Mile Buttress without post holeing? or Givlers? Yes, and yes.

> Can anyone clarify the approach? You are correct, near the Wenatchee River, the Pencil is in the same drainage as Drury Falls. Just a short ways up, the Pencil drainage forks off to the North, or to the climbers right.
