mattp Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 There was a Huey hovering over Green Giant Buttress and circling around the clear creek valley just before dark yesterday (July 3). It looked like a rescue in progress to me, but today I called the ranger station and they didn't know anything about a rescue. Does anybody know if there was an accident on Dreamer? Is everybody OK? mkporwit Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Everett Mountain Rescue and Snohomish SAR responded to Darrington yesterday. The injured party was helicoptered out at the last minute before nightfall. Quote
dberdinka Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) Copy pasted the following from NWHikers. Little more detail on the numerous rescues that seem to have occured over the weekend. "Fell from approx 6500' level above the Cadet Creek drainage. Unroped. Very tragic. On Friday the 3rd, extracted a male with a lacerated leg and his partner from a ledge at 3800' north face of Mt. Index and immediately after that extracted a hiker with a severly dislocated knee from Copper Creek Falls (2200')at the eastern foot of Big Bear Mtn. ( Immediately south of Three Fingers) Tis the season...... Be careful out there!" Edited July 6, 2009 by dberdinka Quote
