BrettS Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I'm thinking about heading up to give Yak Check a go on Sunday this week. Any thoughts on whether the route will be reasonably dry or not given the current forecast (light to moderate rain through Friday, sunny Saturday and Sunday with cool temps)? Thanks for the help! G-spotter Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Tends to be wetter in the mornings and drier in the afternoons because it faces south. Then as it cools down overnight more moisture seeps out. If you're fast enough climbers, start climbing around 2 PM on Sunday and top out by 5 or so. Should be dry then. Starting climbing at 8 AM Sunday, it will be wet until 1:30 or so if it stops raining Friday and is sunny Saturday. Quote

G-spotter Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Given the fresh snow up there now, and the downgraded weekend forecast, might be optimistic to think it would be dry by Sunday afternoon. Quote
