lizard_brain Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Ortovox F1 Focus Avalanche Transceiver, $90 This is an analog beacon operating on the international 457kHz standard. The beacon is in perfect working condition and shows only minor cosmetic wear due to the lettering fading on the front side. I am the original owner. I have never dropped or abused the unit. It has been in storage in a dry environment when not in use. I used it mainly for teaching avalanche rescue for a couple of days a year off and on for a few years, and occasional back-country snowshoe trips. The instruction manual can be found online. Use is fairly intuitive, as the unit gets louder and flashes more lights the closer you get to the victim. Practice makes perfect of course. This unit has never been buried and has only been worn under my shell during snowshoe trips. The lights, speakers, and harness straps are all in working order. ****** Links to the owner's manual: http://beaconreviews.com/transceivers/manuals/Ortovox-F1-Focus_2010-08.pdf http://www.avalanche-center.org/store/manuals/ortovox-f1-D-E.pdf ****** Cash only, please. Must be willing to pick the unit up in the Greenwood area. Thank you for your consideration. Quote
