Skatan Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Anybody been on Adams lately was thinking of taking my son there for a snowboarding trip if snows still OK. We would camp at lunch counter so just back down the south spur from summit. Thanks Jason Quote
sprocket Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 We were up there last weekend and there were tons of skiers and snowboarders and snow most of the way form the circle trail. Expect some of that has melted by now but should be plenty of turns. It was pretty soft early, we were moving from the lunch counter around 5am and didn't put crampons on until the last 800 or so feet to the false summit. Quote
sprocket Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 No worries, wanted to be clear, since I wasn't before, that "last" weekend was July 4&5. Quote
sprocket Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 In the photo you can see a camp of skiers and boarders. One guy just kept going up the south route and boarding down. We saw one couple coming down on our approach and I don't think they had any other gear besides their boarda and boots. Quote
JohnnySee Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Does anybody know about how far from the trailhead the snow starts? We are going tomorrow and trying to decide if we hike from the car in boots or if we start in Running shoes. Thanks! Quote
Winter Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Snow starts shortly above the round the mountain trail. Quote
caverpilot Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Snowline at the bottom of the Crescent "glacier" 8/3, heavy suncups halfway between lunch counter and Pikers, still a good 2,000+ of good skiing! Quote
