ademing Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) The Forest Service, Methow Valley Ranger District is looking for 2 Volunteer Wilderness Rangers for the summer of 2014! The job would be located in Winthrop, WA which hosts a variety of climbing opportunities including the Goat Wall and Washington Pass area. Duties may include 9 day backpacking Wilderness patrols, ecological restoration, data collection, working with pack stock, and working in historic cabins in the Wilderness. Good communication skills are desired! The work requires walking and climbing in steep, uneven terrain, exposure to adverse weather and insects, performing physical labor, bending, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds or more. Housing will be provided for volunteers in Mazama, WA. A $25/day per diem will also be provided.
