Cellphone coverage at Mt Shasta?

Wondering if I will get reception around Helen Lake or Sierra Club hut. I have an iPhone with AT&T. Might be nice to be able to take care of some business each morning before I get started.

Reception at Helen Lake is significantly better than Horse Camp. It's not perfect, but considering you're on a mountain it's pretty good. I have to fight to get a signal around Horse Camp, but up around Helen Lake I have it in my tent.

In general, Verizon gets better coverage on Shasta than AT&T. But my friend with AT&T was able to connect from Helen last time I was up there.

Verizon gets coverage on about 90% of the mountain. AT&T blows. If you walk out to the point (near the drainage) you get service, if you face horse camp, standing to the right of it gets you service, all the way up climbers gully, and the little clearing in front of the ranger hut at helen.
