In general, Verizon gets better coverage on Shasta than AT&T. But my friend with AT&T was able to connect from Helen last time I was up there.

Would the forecast for this weekend (40% chance of rain on Saturday, chance of showers on Sunday) be considered an unfavorable forecast for climbing Sunday morning?
