The BOEALPS Basic Climbing Class will be doing ice axe arrest on Big Chief Mountain by Stevens Pass on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

The BOEALPS Intermediate Climbing Class will be doing rock skills review at Horsethief Butte on Saturday and Sunday.

I'll try to update this thread every week for where the classes will be so people can avoid those areas if they want. If I get any worthwhile conditions reports I'll try post those in the appropriate forums for people to see.

The Basic and Intermediate Climbing Classes will both be in Leavenworth this weekend.

The Basic Climbing Class will be doing rock skills in the following areas, probably both Saturday and Sunday:

Madsen's Buttress

Clamshell Cave

Playground Point

Mountaineers Dome

They tend to stay off most of the actual popular climbs in the areas, but if you want to get on something they already are, just ask and I'm sure you'll be able to work something out.

The Intermediate Climbing Class will be doing rescue training on some rarely climbed rock a ways up hill from the turnoff to Bridge Creek. Sunday will be leading skills, but not sure where yet. As with the basic class, if you run into the intermediate class and want to get on a climb, just ask.
