BOEALPS Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The BOEALPS Basic Climbing Class will be doing ice axe arrest on Big Chief Mountain by Stevens Pass on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. The BOEALPS Intermediate Climbing Class will be doing rock skills review at Horsethief Butte on Saturday and Sunday. I'll try to update this thread every week for where the classes will be so people can avoid those areas if they want. BOEALPS Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 The Basic Climbing Class will be doing overnight trips to the following peaks this weekend to learn about snow camping: Jim Hill Mountain/Pt 6131 Devils Peak/Thumb Mt Elinor/Mt Washington There will also be Basic Climbing Class teams on one day trips at the following peaks: Saturday: Baring and Duke of Kent Sunday: Duke of Kent and Silver Mountain The Intermediate Climbing Class will be doing snow skills review this weekend as well. BOEALPS Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 The Basic and Intermediate Climbing Classes will both be in Leavenworth this weekend. The Basic Climbing Class will be doing rock skills in the following areas, probably both Saturday and Sunday: Madsen's Buttress Clamshell Cave Playground Point Mountaineers Dome They tend to stay off most of the actual popular climbs in the areas, but if you want to get on something they already are, just ask and I'm sure you'll be able to work something out. The Intermediate Climbing Class will be doing rescue training on some rarely climbed rock a ways up hill from the turnoff to Bridge Creek. Sunday will be leading skills, but not sure where yet. These are usually done every other weekend in groups of 4 over both Saturday and Sunday. This weekend there will be teams on the following peaks/routes: Prussic W.
