Toby Storie-Pugh
Hi everyone, I'm looking to climb Muztagh Ata (24,757ft/ 7546m) this summer, and am trying to get a group together to share the fixed costs. I currently have three others on the team, and would like to find a further four or so. Note I am NOT guiding, but I will be coordinating. Cost will be $3620, Bishkek-Bishkek. Flights Seattle-Bishkek-Seattle right now are c.$1550. Qualifications: a minimum of 6000m, higher would be better. Nothing too technical: solid winter mountaineering skills, competent glacier travel, self-rescue, ski or snowshoe. NB: The mountain may have a reputation as an 'easy' 7500m, but a) there is no such thing as an easy 7500m mountain, b) it is renowned for deep snow, terrible weather and extreme cold. If interested, drop me a line toby@flyingkites.org Thanks!
