Anyway, 2 of us going up Rainier July 3-4 and our 3rd person just dropped off for personal reasons so we are looking for someone to join our rope team. I'm 26 and this will be my first Rainier trip and highest climb as of yet. I have lots of winter mountaineering experience in the Northeast and do Mt Washington several times a winter since its the best thing within driving distance, but I'm also competent in my self arrest and in great climbing shape. I've also never had a problem with high altitudes when traveling. My climbing buddy is 36, and a very experienced mountaineer. Within the last 5 years he's summited 6 of the 7 summits (all but Everest which is scheduled for next year). This will be his 7th climb up Rainier and is also a doctor (former ER surgeon, now cardiac anesthesiologist). We already have a reservations set at Camp Muir for July 3rd and all group gear.
