baldmtn Posted January 28, 2011 Share Posted January 28, 2011 Hi everybody, I've wanted to attempt Rainier for a long time as a gateway into mountaineering and finally might have the magic combo of time and money. I'd like to join up with others for an attempt ideally in late May or early/mid June. About me, I'm a 26 year old guy in great physical shape but no mountaineering experience other than backpacking and hiking. I'm a runner and gym rat and would up my training even more to be in best possible shape by summer. I'd like to team up with others with experience on the mountain. For routes, I'm obviously not looking at the very technical stuff but would rather avoid the crowds on DC if possible. Because I'll be flying in from the east coast I'd want to join up with a group whose plans are set in stone. I can't shoulder the expense of having the trip fall through at the last minute.
