chris Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) If you heard Dan Otter present his case study - of his own near-fatal accident - at the Northwest Snow and Avalanche Summit last week, then you heard one of his conclusions: that manufacturing a rescue sled utilizing his own skis was critical to his rescue. I have a couple of extra sleds in my inventory that I wanted to give up at wholesale or a little under. Anecdotally, these sleds also work with split boards! Brooks Range Mountaineering Pro Rescue Sled The original. Sled body is made with rip stop nylon and weighs in at 538gm/19 ounces. The original spreader bars added another 500gm, but I replaced them years ago with a Brooks Range Mountaineering shovel handle, stripped down, which incorporates the spreader bar slots into the two 10" pieces. Total weight now is aproximately 750-800gm/26-28 ounces. Packs down to less than a liter. Retails for $218.00 $70.00 includes shipping or delivery in Seattle [url:http://brooks-range.com/Mountaineering-Rescue-Sled-Pro-Rescue-Sled.html]LINK to more information.[/url] Edited November 16, 2010 by chris Quote
