You can't beat the performance of the fabric. I live in Southeast AK w/ a 100% humidity, typically skiing between wet and heavy snow, down to rain and any combination in between. Same with alpine and Ice climbs and have tried other brands/ fabrics. They either break down to quick, soak up and hold water, or don't breath nearly as well as Gore-ProShell. This was my second pro-shell, (as I took a nast fall down a gully and shredded my last) and I won't by anything else for the climate I live in and the activities I do.
