Joe_Poulton Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 Just wanted to give a little update for this area....the snow coverage is alright to great above 4000 ft as of Friday. I went up most of the Eagle Peak trail and got to roughly 4700 ft to a major clearing and a significant slope. I dug a pit to the ground...5 feet..this was broken into 4 slab layers. Using the tap test the first layer of 1.5 ft slide at 5 taps with the wrist...the next layer slide at 7 taps from the elbow and the bottom layer a few inches above ground contact slide at 2 from the shoulder...we didn't go further since we went out with no beacons and could not afford a burial of any kind.
