RSo Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) Trip: Nesakwatch Spires, Chilliwack - Ensakwatch Enchainment, Fantasies and Fairytales Date: 7/4/2009 Trip Report: Nick Elson and I climbed the Ensakwatch Enchainment, and then the incredible route Fantasies and Fairytales on the West face of the South Nesakwatch Spires last weekend, put up by Craig McGee back in 2004. Surprisingly we were the only ones there. There's some really good climbing here, some of the nicest rock that I've climbed in the alpine (which isn't saying much of course). I posted a long trip report on my blog with Craig's topo in case anybody is interested (I couldn't figure out why my Flickr photos weren't linking into CC.com). It's raining outside, so perhaps this will keep a few unemployed climbers entertained. Richard seconding the crux pitch of Fantasies and Fairytales. Photo by Nick Elson. Le Piston Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 That looked like a sweet climb! Nice work. The rock looks really clean from your pictures. I'm impressed by the blog report's quality. Why do so many great areas in Canada have such crappy road approaches? Quote
G-spotter Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 You definitely lucked out having it all to yourself last w/e. On average it seems like Rexford and the Spires are seeing about 2 parties/weekend plus the dayhikers who get to the bowl and turn around. Quote
