WageSlave Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Went up to the Hogsback for some fun father-son bonding and got a good look at conditions up there. Those 45 mph winds earlier in the week wind-scoured everything and its fast travel now. Some larger and sketchier windslabs are on south and east facing slopes. 1/2 of the old chute ripped in the last day or two. High res versions are in the gallery. Got a good look-see at Illumination Rock and March Madness looks to be in. The bottom pillar is much fatter and not freehanging like it was a month ago. April Insanity looks to be in too, but I didn't get up close and personal with it. Go and get 'em. Quote
Frikadeller Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Did you actually summit, or just stop at hogsback? The reason I ask is, I am wondering what the conditions are in the left hand gully on the normal (or was the normal) pearly gates route? I can see the high angle of the PG route, but the rocks obscure the left hand gully. Quote
WageSlave Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 We just went up to the hogsback, so no info for you on the PG. I haven't heard anything this year on the conditions of it. Quote
billbob Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Way to grab one of the frustratingly few nice weather days ! Quote
