ASmith Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) My wife wears an 8.5 shoe for most of everything. So... I bought a size 41 in the mens (red) version which shows to be a ladies size US 9. The box says US size 9. After a 5 mile hike she complained about sore toes. Anyone have any experience with Trango S Evo sizing and / or the female version (blue) vs the mens (red) version? Looks like we have a new pare of mens (red) 41's for sale! Edited July 15, 2008 by ASmith Quote
jewels421 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I wear a women's size 10, and just bought the 42s in the Trangos. I was wishing they were just a couple of millimeters longer, but I thought I would try them out anyways. I didn't have any troubles after a two-day trip last weekend, but the descents weren't terribly long/steep. Jury is still out. I tried on the men's 42 for comparison and I believe they fit a little smaller than the women's, but I can't remember really because it was in a blur of an hour long boot-trying on session and I dismissed them immediately. penoyar Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I have a red pair at 44.5. I usually wear size 11 men's running shoes. I find I have to leave the toe-box laces quite loose to keep from getting lateral pinky toe blisters, but if laced properly, they feel great. Lauren has a blue pair at 41.0. She wears a 9.5 women's running shoe. Says they're a tad long, has no problems with toes, but gets a bit of heel movement leading to achilles area blisters. Quote
Clarence Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 When in doubt size up. Better to put in an insole or wear thicker socks than to smash all your toenails off. I wear 10.5 in running shoes, and a 44 (10.5+) in the Trangos. Note that because the shoes are made in Euro sizes the increments aren't as big as they are in US sizes e.g. There are two mens 10.5 sizes: a 43.5 is a US 10.5 and a 44 is a 10.5+. Also, it's a narrow last, so it may not be a length issue as much as a width issue. Quote
