GregD Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Does anyone know the current conditions for Mt Washington? Specifically how much snow is still on the PCT or the North Ridge? Thanks! Quote
wannabe Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I took this shot on Tue afternoon from the PCT just N of the pass. Quote
dan_forester Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 snow on the N ridge is a good thing - kicking steps up & plunge-stepping down beats the tedious late-season scramble. however snow on the pct is not as nice, especially when snow cover on the pct causes you & your partner to miss it on the way back...though I wouldn't know anything about that first-hand of course. jfs1978 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 7/10/08 Snow is patchy the entire way in. PCT is pretty clear...gets more continuous just before hitting the N Ridge climber's trail. North Ridge route is clear of snow the entire way...but east side of ridge still has a good shelf of snow if you want to use it to bypass some of the scramble. Quote
GregD Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 Thanks everyone for the info. We had a great climb. Quote
