mikulov Posted May 30, 2008 Author Posted May 30, 2008 I'm 6' 2", but unfortunately Dan McHale didn't tell me if I have a long or medium sized torso. I hope this helps... Quote

mattp Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Vickster, have you ever bought a pack from McHale? I have bought three of them and he never once told me "you have a 22" spine," or whatever. I have offered a similar pack for sale on cc.com and was asked the same question: what size back is it for and I confessed that I don't know but I am 5'11 and I don't think my spine is abnormally long or short for someone of my size. Maybe I'm a moron too and if I really want to sell the pack I should probably go figure out McHale's measurement method but there is no need for you to add gratuitous insults. Quote
mikulov Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Based on the instructions at the McHale site, my spine is 20" (from the 7th cervical vertabra to the medial area of the illiac crest). I would recommend the site to anyone seriously thinking about buying a McHale pack. Thank you, Vickers, for the link. Unfortunately, it was the only part of your rant that was useful, informative, and accurate. Originally, I had wanted to sell this pack on consignment at the American Alpine Institute here in Bellingham. They recommended this site, telling me that I would have better luck. So far, it has been "interesting". Now.. I think I will pour myself a fine Cabernet, retire to my dacha in Nigeria, and count my bogus money orders... ;-)) Quote
