Peter_Puget Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 From Terry in Auburn on the Seattle Times Forum: I don't care about all the money in the NFL or the slam dunks in the NBA. There is nothing like baseball. You don't come out of college tearing up the league in baseball, cause it's like the piano, easy to play a little, but to become a professional, it takes years of practice. Baseball players don't have to be giants, they have to be disciplined. A little guy like Ichiro or Pedro Martinez can destroy another team. Baseball has no clock so it's never over, it has no goal, and you score without the ball. Baseball has drama, one on one confrontations of will and skill like tennis, the manager is involved like no other sport. When you substitute a player, he is gone for the night. Baseball is the ultimate, in my opinion. A sport without peer, art, history, and drama rolled into one. Quote
prole Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 That the game of baseball is pure bliss may be the only thing we agree on. Quote
