Obviously the more expensive ice screws are the one with knobs due to their easier placements...However, I just stumbled across this: ice screw knobs . Do you think I would be able to add this to the screws w/o knobs, thus saving money?

Anyone try this?

The OP knobs don't fit BD Turbo screws (the slot is too small for the BD hanger). You can open the slot a bit with a file but the locknut won't fully engage. In any event, it's not worth the trouble because the knobs will inevitably break off. (They're great as replacement knobs for OP's though). I don't know how they might fit other screws.

The OP swivels seemed to sit in place with a little epoxy. These little gixmos sure added new life into my old BD and Smiley screws.

Sure the knobs stick up at a poor angle that does get in the way when efficiency is what you are valuing most. However, the ease when placing the scews is worth the frustration.

If you don't want to budget for Express or just want to add new life to old Turbos then go for it. You can always pull 'em off of let your buddy take them for the next lead.
