Itsallgood Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 Neri- You probably thought about this already but I didn't see anything posted- a 30-37m rope leaves you a bit short getting a partner out of a slot so you should think about bringing extra cord. Also make sure you have thin enough prussiks to work when your thin rope is stretched and wet. My two cents. Quote
fishstick Posted August 2, 2001 Posted August 2, 2001 Hi Neri, Agreed with a longer rope suggestion. My suggestion would be buy a 60 now and save buying it later. You'll eventually own a shorter rope serendipitously after knocking holes in one of your's or your friend's 60s. Even with a 60 meter rope, your tie in points are only roughly 4 "big arm lengths" per person off center to allow for a drop loop system of crevasse rescue, which is about the only method one person can aid another individual out of a slot.
