The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land, for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $150?" The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance." catbirdseat Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 Gene Autry as many of you remember was, before he was owner of the California Angels, a popular Western Movie Star. If you knew Gene, it was said he had rather parsimonius nature, too. He had a beautiful horse named Trigger that was his stalwart through all his movies. When Trigger became old he was put out to pasture to live out his life in ease. One day Trigger died of old age. Gene went to a taxidermist and told him, "My horse Trigger meant the world to me. He and I went through hell and high water together. I can't bear to just plant him in the ground. Can you stuff him? I want to be able see my Trigger and remember what fine times we had together", and Gene proceeded to launch off into story after story about his trusty horse. The taxidermist said, "well, I think it would cost about $5,000", to which Autry replied, "$5,000?, $5,000!?!!!!!" "Bury the sombitch!"
