ClimbingPanther Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I have been getting a hankering for some winter backpacking, but I really hate snowshoes. Having done the Wonderland Trail this summer, I couldn't help but wonder about skiing it during the winter, or at least go somewhere to do some ski-backpacking. There's a lot of issues that winter brings up, but I'm sure somebody has done this before. Anybody have suggestions for this type of thing? HWY 20 in the N. Cascades? etc? Quote
MisterMo Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Oh yes, do that. The Wonderland would be a very cool winter tour. I was really close to doing it back in the day but I put it off too long & got old. Damn. I imagine in these days of thin low altitude snowpacks you'd want a setup that you can hoof it in here and there. Quote
