Alasdair Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Hey any of the squamish regulars know how long that block at the top of the first pitch of Exasperator has been loose? I did not give it a big tug, but seems to me like it might be time for that thing to be removed before it goes while someone is on route. Has anyone given it a good tug? It certainly moved when I grabed it. Quote
annyomous_coward Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 That block has been there for atleast 4 years and it always seems to wingle. That block is in there pretty good. Quote
pope Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 That block has been there for atleast 4 years ... Â I'll bet you're correct. Otherwise, where did it come from? Quote
Alasdair Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 Yes it seems to wiggle, but looking at the shape of it I see no reason why it would not just pop out of there one day when someone gives it a tug. Next time I am up there if there is no one around I might have a real go at getting it out. Quote
Geek_the_Greek Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I'm pretty sure it's listed as a 'loose block' in the 1992 Squamish guide; before that, I don't know. But sure, it may be getting looser, so give it a few whacks with a bar if you feel like it. I was thinking it makes a handy place to stand after the first 25 m, but I guess isn't necessary, since the whole route is only 50 m. Quote
